My name is Allison Peters. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as a potential Director in your organization. My leadership experience and skills will enable the development of a healthcare team that facilitates the creation of loyal healthcare service consumers. I have a solid work history of building a unit where patients’ satisfaction is a priority; assuring they are provided with exceptional care by dedicated and knowledgeable staff.
I have been involved in several quality implementation projects using the principles of Evidence Based Practice. These projects help ensure positive outcomes for patients, staff and physicians. While many of these projects were based in the operating room setting, they can easily be utilized as a framework in other units of practice.
With the support of my family I have been able to complete my Bachelor’s and my Master’s, degrees at the University of Central Florida while working in a full time leadership position. I am currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida College of Nursing maintaining my clinical skills as an RN at the Admission, Discharge, Transfer Unit. Prior to this I was a Nurse Manager of a 34-bed Medical/Surgical Unit managing 60 direct reports. I have also managed a 23 suite operating room at a Magnet® Status, Level-I Trauma hospital with direct report of over 180 employees. I graduated with honors from UCF May 4, 2012 with a Master’s degree in Nursing Leadership and Management with a certificate in Nursing Education. I am currently working on my DNP with anticipated graduation in December 2015. As evidenced by the examples provided above, I have proven the ability to effectively multi-task while achieving a high level of success.
